Purchased a 40 inch Seiki model number SC402GS at Sears on12-12-2012. Last month the screen would go blank.

I would turn it off, back on and it would stay on for only a few minutes and go blank again. I did not purchased a service contract, so I took it to a repair shop and it would cost over $375.00 to fix it. I only had the TV for 18 months. I would think a TV should last longer then 18 months.

I called the so call custom service center and waited for 30 minutes and left them a message.

After reading some of the other comments, I am happy I did not waste my money buying a service contract. This will be my only and LAST TV from Seiki.
